1. WHAT ARE THREE FACTORS YOU THINK ARE IMPORTANT FOR SOMEONE TO CONSIDER WHEN THEY FIRST ENTER A TEAM?
  1. What is the mission of the team?
  2. What skill sets do I possess that will be of value to the mission of the team?
  3. How can I integrate my skills with the skills of other team members?
2. DESCRIBE A HEALTHY MINDSET FOR SOMEONE TO ADOPT WHEN FIRST ENTERING A TEAM?
  1. Be a good listener
  2. Request and accept feedback
  3. Maintain a yes “and” mindset rather than a yes “but” one.
3. WHAT ARE THREE FACTORS YOU THINK ARE IMPORTANT FOR A TEAM TO CONSIDER WHEN ACCEPTING A NEW MEMBER?
  1. Inform the new member regarding the mission of the team and progress to date.
  2. Clarify expectations re: the new member’s role.
  3. Be open to questions from the new member re: goals, objectives and roles of individual team members.
4. DESCRIBE A HEALTHY MINDSET FOR A TEAM TO ADOPT WHE ACCEPTING A NEW MEMBER?
  1. Be welcoming and allow member to integrate into the group
  2. Be predisposed to accept that all existing relationships within the team will be impacted in some manner with the inclusion of the new member.
5. WHAT ARE SOME KEY DEVELOPMENTS YOU WOULD LOOK FOR TO SEE SUCCESSFUL INTEGRATION OF NEW MEMBERS INTO A TEAM?
  1. New members and old members are listening to each other with yes and rather than yes but responses.
  2. New members are engaged in setting and implementing evolving strategies for meeting objectives.
  3. Trust is evident in terms effective collaboration that results in commitments being kept and benchmarks being reached.
6. WHAT ARE SOME KEY RESULTS YOU MIGHT EXPECT AFTER A NEW TEAM MEMBER IS SUCCESSFULLY INTEGRATED?
  1. Overall team motivation is high.
  2. Communication is fluid and ongoing.
  3. Goals are being met.
  4. Disagreements are being effectively resolved with positive outcomes.
  5. Delegated responsibilities are in conformity with individual skill sets.
  6. Celebration of successes and inclusion of the all team members.
